Fiber Arts

MOVING ON!

My last post was on August 3rd during our huge move and resettling effort.  What a relief the journey is over!  I hope to get back to this blog on a regular basis from now on.
Today finds me in my third day at SAFF – Southeastern Animal Fiber Festival – and what a joy it has been!  My daughter and I drove here on Thursday, October 20, stopping to have lunch and meet up with the other members of her knitting circle in Black Mountain, NC.  We couldn’t have chosen a better place to stop for lunch – Verandah’s – where we enjoyed delicious soups and sandwiches.  We explored the working artists’ galleries in the River Arts District in downtown Asheville before settling into our motel and preparing for our classes on Friday.  The long walk and exploration of the galleries left us very inspired for the upcoming events.  The sunshine and cool mountain air only added to our enthusiasm.
More about the classes, which concentrate on felting and writing for publication, in the next few blogs.  Then I will move on to share the projects currently waiting for me in my small studio / cave!
It’s good to be back in the bloggosphere!  Here are some photos taken by the traveling photographer, my daughter, Andrea.
Fall colors grew more beautiful as we climbed higher into the Blue Ridge area.

This lovely alpaca was so friendly.
